2 Days Jungle Camp In Nam Ha NPA
A 2-day, 1night trek in the Nam Ha National protected Area is an interesting option for someone who want to learn about jungle life. We will spend about 4-5 hour hiking on the first day to reach the Campsite place, and about 5-6 hours hiking on the second day. In this program, you will learn how to survive in the forest, especially how to use the bamboo and banana leaves to set up camp, including using bamboo as cooking equipment in the forest. It’s a great and impressive memory.
Day 1
We depart from Trek and Tour Laos office at about 8:30AM by a Mini Van or by Tuk Tuk about 30 minute drive to get to Doilakkham where we start trek. The Local guide from Chalearn Souk village go with us until next day morning. Your guide will brief you about the hike and the trails. For the trekking level is moderate walking, before heading deep into the primary forest. Your guide will point out plants used for medicine and edible plant. If we walk quietly, we may be lucky to see wildlife such as monkey, wild boar, jungle fowl and deer. You can help your guide prepare the jungle picnic lunch by bamboo before hiking further to the campsite. We help each other to build the hut where we are going to stay overnight by using the bamboo and banana leaf. you also can learn how to cook local food with your guide with an open fire. Enjoy eating dinner near the campfire exchanging stories with the guide, you will fall as sleep with the sound of flowing water and the jungle sound around you.
Approximately: 4-5 Hours trek
We wake up around 7:00–7:30 a.m. to drink tea or coffee and enjoy a delicious breakfast that a guide had prepared. We depart from Cam site at around 9:30 a.m. to visit khmu village of Ban Nalan Neua and Ban nalan Tai which located on the Nam Ha River bank, will take about 30–40 minute walk to Nalan Neua village and about one and a half or 2 hour walk to get to Nalan Tai village. Khmu tribe is the largest number of ethnic groups in Northern Laos. Next, we head to the Lantan village, the people derive from the south of China a few hundred years ago. You will see the locals wearing their typical clothing. Then you will head into the forest again, trek for a few hours to reach the top of the mountain where you will witness the beautiful views. We will have lunch on the hilltop before walking to the last village at the bottom of the mountain, another Lantan village where our transit car will be waiting on the main road. We will take a rest before walking10 minutes to the car on main road and get a transfer back to the town.
